How #NYFW played out on Twitter

New York Fashion Week has come to an end, and as the runway shows, presentations and afterparties wound down last night, we looked into which #NYFW moments got the most attention, according to Tweets.

Before we get into rankings, check out this (embeddable) heat map that illustrates how New Yorkers flocked to Twitter to share photos, emojis, videos and commentary throughout the week:

Each show generated conversation, but a few stood out from the pack. Here are the ones that generated the most conversation on Twitter:

We looked into which models captured the crowd’s attention the most on Twitter:

We kicked off the week by teaming up with @VogueMagazine and @CocoRocha to launch special #NYFW Twitter emojis:


The #fashionflock, a Twitter community of fashion fans, was in full regalia, Tweeting, Periscoping and Vining all week. For example:



Besides designers and models sharing their experiences, we also saw Tweets from digital stars who stole the spotlight, like these:



This year, one of the biggest breakout stars was @Periscopeco. Designers like @RalphLauren, @RachelZoe and @CarolinaHerrera gave their gift of fashion to fans who could experience their shows from around the world.

We also teamed up with @WWD, who gave their followers a chance to vote on a multitude of fashion topic, all within a Tweet:
